Week 1 of 52

Here we are again! Starting back with "verse 1 of 52." Last year was an amazing year of memorization, and I pray that this little blog has encouraged a few girls and women to memorize more of God's precious Word - even if it is not exactly 52 verses each year.

As we start our second year of weekly memorization, I encourage you to comment with the verses you memorize throughout this year. Even if you are not "keeping up" with 52-verses in a year, we would love to see what other sisters-in-Christ are memorizing!

My first verse for 2013 is one that I felt good as a good reminder:
"For the LORD shall be thy confidence,
and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
Proverbs 3:26

When I accepted Christ as my Savior, I placed my total confidence in Him. To move that confidence to man, politics, guns, or other "safeties" is wrong. As I memorized my verse, I was reminded of Psalm 118:8-9, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes."

In 2013, may we fully rest in the confidence that we have in God Almighty!

~~~
What verse are you clinging to for 2013?? Even if it is not your memory verse, we would still love to hear!
My first verse for 2013 is a continuation of my memorization of Galatians 6 with verse 13, "For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.”
I look forward to memorizing more of the Lord's precious Word!!
My first verse is actually two... Philippians 2:14&15.
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
I'm so excited to start memorizing the Word!
My first verse is Ephesians 6:10 Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. This reminds me that my strength comes from Jesus and not myself. A reminder my efforts are inadequate...but God's power is endless and invincible.
This seemed appropriate as we start a new year & often have a list of goals & "resolutions" we hope to accomplish.
"Many are the plans of a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21
What a wonderful way to memorize Scripture - with your Sunday School class! Having others memorizing the same thing helps us stay on track, doesn't it?
Good job for making it almost all the way in 2012!!!!!! I know that God will use those verses in your life.
We'll miss you this year, but I pray that God works in your life as you do your own challenges. Don't forget to keep hiding His Word in your heart!
Romans 12:12 is a good verse to set before us. Thank you for sharing.
Amen! Through God we can overcome anything that is before us - even something as simple as the temptation to stop memorizing God's Word! May we remember that we are strong through Him.
My Memory Verse: "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11
Thank you! I praise the Lord for giving me this idea and allowing it to come into fruition. It is only by His strength that we can keep things like this going - and I pray that it will benefit all those who participate.
