The 52 Challenge

Memorize 52 verses this year, one verse each week.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.” Psalm 119:11

I believe that hiding God’s Word in our hearts involves not only memorizing Scripture, but also remembering that which we have memorized. Each week of this challenge, the participants are to memorize one new verse and review the verses that they have previously learned this year.

Joining the Challenge:
There are absolutely no requirements for joining except that you are earnest in your commitment to memorize 52 verses.

The challenge officially begins on January 1, 2012, though you may begin this memory challenge any time of the year – so even if you missed the first few weeks of 2012, do not give up. Start where you are and memorize one verse each week until you have 52 in store.

To Help You:
You might like to do one or more of the following to help you stay faithful in memorizing 52 verses {Note: These are not requirements for you to participate in the challenge; they are just suggestions to help you reach your goal in 52 weeks}:

~Comment on our weekly posts, including your verse by memory
~Post your weekly verse on your blog
~Keep a journal, writing down your memorized verses each week
~Ask a sibling, parent, or friend to help you stay accountable with memorizing one verse each week

Who is up for a challenge? Take your Sword and let us begin our journey!

What a wonderful challenge, one that encourages us to spur each other on our journey of this narrow path, and to train us to hide His beautiful Word in our heart. I would love to join your challenge!
