Week 5 of 52!

But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
Matthew 20:26

This goes totally contrary to our natural flesh and to the teachings of the world. We believe that to be great, we much “exert ourselves.” However, as children of God, we are commanded to be different. We are not to “exercise dominion over them {or} exercise authority over them” (Matthew 20:25). Like our example, Jesus Christ, we are to be servants, humbling down from our pride to serve others.

I've been working on the Armor of God. This week Ephesians 6:14, Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place. Satan is in the business of lying...God speaks only truth. Jesus clothes me in His righteousness, and godly character is a defense as well. I'm finding memorizing slows you down which helps you to see more of what God is teaching.

@Carol

Ephesians has some wonderful verses for us to memorize!!!

I agree with you: when we commit God's Word to memory, it is with us more often and we get more from it! What a blessing to hear that from others!

My verse for this week is...

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Psalm 139:14

This is one of my favourite Psalms...

I agree with you: this is probably one of my {many} favorites as well! I just think it is beautiful! Praise our Lord Who created us so fearfully and wonderfully!

@Amy

That verse always convicts me! It is a good reminder for us to forgive in love.
