But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16

Holy.
Pure.
Blameless.
Consecrated.

There is no better example of holiness than looking at our God. I encourage you to do a study on the multitude of verses that speak of God’s holiness.

Psalm 18:28-29
For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

I'm planning to memorize the following verses as well, because they speak so clearly of my complete reliance on the Lord's strength. In this last year or so, I've faced obstacles that seemed completely insurmountable. In the midst of my powerlessness, I read Psalm 18 and it felt as if I read it for the first time. No darkness is too deep, no foe is too numerous, no wall is too high for our God. We are more than conquerors through Him!

My eleventh verse is...."But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." {Isaiah 40:31}

If we only wait on Him, He will renew our strength! His timing is always perfect.

I have been working on memorizing the book of James. I had already memorized the first 13 verses so I am not counting those. So far I am up to James 2:20, which I think is about 30 verses.
I'm sorry that I haven't been commenting here every week. I am memorizing passage by passage so I don't know the exact references that I memorized each week. i will try to be more consistent.

While on my mission trip to Mexico I really started wondering about God's will for my life and how He would use me to serve Him. When I started to get weighed down by these questions, God laid Psalm 27:14 on my heart. This is my verse memorization for week 11.

"Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."

Simple, but powerful. Through this verse, God was asking me to wait for Him, trust Him, and in His perfect timing He would show me His will for my life. This verse brought me such a wonderous peace of heart and mind.

Late getting my verse in, but here it is... Ephesians 4;2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
This verse has followed me all last week and part of this week. Humble, remembering who I was before Christ and my work is to keep submitting to my Lord. Gentle....power under control. We've been studying Ephesians and I'm so loving it.
