"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
Joshua 1:9

As a born-again child of God, we have this beautiful promise to cling onto no matter what happens!!!

What is your seventeenth verse?

Remember to faithfully review your other sixteen verses! :)

My verse is 1 Corinthians 9:25: "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible." This got me thinking...am I striving for a corruptible crown or an incorruptible one? Am I spending time on this that will last?

Well, I can hardly think of a more inflammatory verse, but it's in the letter that I'm trying to memorize and God said it, so I won't detract from it. This reminds me of a possibly related verse, Romans 2:28--"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Honestly, there is something exciting about that last phrase and I hope it can be said of me: "...and to know that I have loved you."

My seventeenth verse is 2 Chronicles 15:7, which is similar to Joshua 1:9! :) "Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded." We need all of God's reminders to be strong, be strong, be strong!!! :)

Greetings! I just realized that I never posted this past week's memorization. For week 17, I memorized Psalm 16:8, 11.
