--15 of 52--

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Ephesians 4:31-32

As a child of God, we should NOT have:
   ~Bitterness
   ~Wrath
   ~Anger
   ~Clamour
   ~Evil Speaking
   ~Malice

Instead, we should put on:
   ~Kindness
   ~Tenderheartedness
   ~Forgiveness

If we had a list to jot down "what we do" would it contain anger, bitterness, and evil speaking or gentleness and forgiveness? Do we need to change some of the things that we allow ourselves to do? In our own strength, we cannot forgive, we cannot push away bitterness, but God promises that if we belong to Him, He will help us conquer any evil.

We've hit another big number: 15!!!! Only thirty-seven verses left to go!!! By God's strength, we can do it!

What is your fifteenth verse?
Don't forget to continually review your other verses.

Revelation 3:7
To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth and no man openeth...

I'm planning to memorize Revelation 3:7-13 because that is my favorite letter to the churches in the end-times. (You'll see why soon!) This particular verse underscores, for me, the fact that God is in complete control. If God is for us, who can be against us? If God opens it, who can shut it? If God closes it, who can open it again?

This gives me so much confidence. All the efforts of the Enemy are nothing. If I abide within my God, I have access through those open doors, protection by those closed doors, and the knowledge that I am loved by one who is both holy and true.

I memorized Psalm 119:1-2:
Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the LORD.
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek after Him with the whole heart.

This week, I memorized James 3:13-16 with God's help. Posted about it here: http://withajoyfulnoise.blogspot.com/2012/04/verse-15-of-52.html

Oh my! It is the end of the week, and I just remembered I had not shared my verse yet! My, this week has gone quickly!!!
My fifteenth verse is Psalm 118:6: "The LORD is on my side;
I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?"
The Psalms have really encouraged my lately, so I guess that is why I have been memorizing a few verses from that book. ;)
