“And He said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16:15
This is a concept that I so often forget: it doesn’t matter what people think about me – it matters what GOD sees. Others can only see the outside of me, but God sees my heart. Outwardly, others see me cheerfully serving; inwardly, God sees the pride of my heart. Outwardly, others may think that I am whole-heartedly following God; inwardly, God sees that I am just acting. It does not matter if men approve of what I do, it matters that God approves.
