“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great
a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1
Romans 15:4 reminds us, “For
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we
through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” In Hebrews
11, we read of many men and women who lived by faith. Then, we reach Hebrews
12:1, which exhorts us to not give up but to continue. I know that it is an
encouragement for me to read through the many men and women of faith who the
Lord strengthened to live as He would have them to. The God Who shut the mouths
of Daniel’s lions, Who protected Joseph through various troubles, Who kept
David safe from the enemies next to him, and Who protected Noah in the ark is
the SAME God that I serve today!

Forget about the wrong things people do to you, and do not try to get even. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18
@Amy
Love is an aspect that God has been working in my heart about. If I TRULY "loved my neighbor as myself" I would treat everyone so differently!!! For instance, my siblings: If I loved my sister as myself, I wouldn't ask her in an annoying tone to do her chore (after all, I wouldn't pester myself about doing my chore) and I wouldn't pile things on my brother's desk (I would bug myself if I did that to me!!). It amazes me how a simple command from God entails so much in our everyday life! May we all grow in our love!!!
