It reminds me of "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tonuge; but in deed and in truth." Ah, but Lamentations 3:23 fits right in - it is God's grace that we are not consumed, because His mercy fails not!!! It is His mercy and grace that gives us strength to continue on this narrow path!!!

Thanks for your comment.

~Ana Renee
www.52weeks52verses.blogspot.comRubies Like Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14351965334581693186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6583895698736911833.post-25333747960547465562013-06-09T03:26:07.323-05:002013-06-09T03:26:07.323-05:00I love the verse this week! To 'love' seems so simple, but when you read through the verses in Corinthians you begin to realise that everything you do reflects your love - your conduct, your speech, and your actions.

I watched a Christian movie called 'Hanse' last night, and there was a great line that really stood out to me:
"You won't get better by improving one thing in your life by 100%. You get better by improving 100 things in your life by 1%."

It's true, really, because love involves so many things - so we need to strive to improve in the loving words we say, the compassion we show, and all the other things that make up love - kindness, humility, patience, etc.

Thanks for the verse this week :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05986631303524619230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6583895698736911833.post-42898875228920531332013-06-06T21:29:55.576-05:002013-06-06T21:29:55.576-05:00Wow,thank you for reminding me of this passage - i...Wow,thank you for reminding me of this passage - it really is such a challenge for us as believers! May the Lord by His grace help us in this area,as I'm sure that I won't be the first to admit that I have failed to show love in every one of these areas, sometimes within a single day! Even if outwardly I appear to be showing love to others, inwardly I often have selfish motives such as having others think of me as really "good". So thank you for posting this and challenging me in this area!

A passage that has been on my mind a lot this week is Lamentations 3:22-39. I have been reading through this book this week and it was quite terrifying reading about God's righteous anger and judgement, and then right in the middle of it all is this amazing section full of hope and joy and assurance for believers! It really made me stop and see God's grace all the more. It's a wonderful passage, and I'm so glad I saw it this week as I must confess that Lamentations is a book of the Bible that I have rarely read.

God bless!
Your sister in Christ,
VioletViolethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10058042978222477345noreply@blogger.com
