Better late than never? :)
I am memorizing Psalm 63:1: "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;". It was kinda neat, because I didn't know what verse to memorize next, then when I was reading one day, this one jumped out at me. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13436633452180943193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6583895698736911833.post-57256140788722064282012-04-04T11:05:47.197-05:002012-04-04T11:05:47.197-05:00My verse for this week is a continuation of my pas...My verse for this week is a continuation of my passage from last week: Colossians 1:12-14

"and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."Talithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17566033204205370740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6583895698736911833.post-8026575142120703322012-04-02T19:46:31.024-05:002012-04-02T19:46:31.024-05:00This week I memorized James 3:1-2.

I started out a bit late, so I am still a little behind, but I am in the middle of working on Proverbs 4. (I'll try to be more faithful in updating!) Here is Psalm 1 (which I memorized first) completely from memory...

-Psalm 1-

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor standeth in the way of sinners,
Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
And in His law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
That bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous:
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02456647659062579565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6583895698736911833.post-38079301198618150652012-04-02T15:04:15.376-05:002012-04-02T15:04:15.376-05:00Psalm 18:34-35

Thou hast given me the shield of thy salvation: thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

The first part of this passage inspires me with the promise that this spiritual war is fought, not with my own power, but His. We are able to do impossible things (not just difficult things or improbable things, but truly IMPOSSIBLE things) with our God's power! The second thing that struck me about this passage was the last part: "Thy gentleness hath made me great." Who thinks of God as being gentle? We're used to Him wielding His power, not consciously laying it aside to meet with us on our level (as He did in the form of Jesus Christ). God's gentleness--it reminds me of a certain carpenter who took children in His arms to bless them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14821463567358285065noreply@blogger.com
